Privacy policy

How we handle the information you share with us.

Legal information. This policy explains how 47 Partners handles website use and personal information. Statutory company and data-protection details are available on request through the contact page.

Who we are

47 Partners is a business brokerage operating in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal information submitted through this website. Registered company and data-protection contact details are available on request through the contact page.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, email address and telephone number.
  • Information about a business you own or wish to acquire: sector, location, broad financial bands, timing, funding position and any notes you add.
  • Records of your consent choices and the messages you send us.
  • Limited technical information used to protect the forms from abuse. We store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for (contract and legitimate interests).
  • To assess whether we can help, and to match buyer criteria to authorised opportunities (legitimate interests).
  • To send opportunity alerts and updates, where you have separately opted in (consent).
  • To keep records required for anti-money-laundering and other legal obligations (legal obligation).

Marketing consent is always a separate, optional choice. Submitting an enquiry never subscribes you to anything.

Confidentiality

Information about a business for sale is treated as confidential. Nothing identifying a business is disclosed to a prospective buyer without the owner's authorisation, and only after the buyer is qualified and a confidentiality agreement is recorded.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate the site and communicate with you — hosting, database and email delivery providers — and with professional advisers or authorities where we are legally required to. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained while there is an active discussion and for a period afterwards so we can pick up the conversation again. Records required for legal or regulatory purposes are held for the period the law requires. Specific retention periods should be confirmed and stated here before launch.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page.

Security

Data is held in access-controlled systems. Confidential documents are stored in private storage and released only to individuals who have been granted specific, revocable permission.
